Hello friends!

We have so much to share with you this month! The temperatures may be slowly falling but things are really heating up at the barn with all of the festivities we have planned for the coming weeks. We hope you can be a part of some or all of them!

The animals are having so much fun at their new home. They are enjoying all of the space and beautiful views. What they are most happy about though is their new barn roof! We had so many AWESOME friends come out to help that first weekend of November and it was a tremendous success! It is amazing what you can accomplish with a lot of love and a little hard work. A great big, Bodhi sized dose of gratitude to every single individual who either contributed towards the cost, or who rolled up their sleeves and jumped in to assist with the raising of the barn roof. We could not be more thankful for you all and we couldn’t have done it without you! We could write too many words recapping the wonderful events of the day, but sometimes a video is best to portray the emotion. Please take a moment to watch this beautiful footage created by our dear and talented friend, Chuck Richardson, documenting the magic of the day. Enjoy!

Here a goat, there a goat, everywhere a goat, goat! You all know we lost our dear friend Skyfall recently and Augie has just been beside himself with grief. We wanted to welcome some new goat friends to the barn and see if Augie would bond with them in a similar way. Well, we put the word out that we were looking and you all gave a tremendous response! We have welcomed four new precious souls to the barn to live happily ever after and they could not be cuter if they tried! The all white one with orange patches (we named him Harry) and the little black and white one (we named him Willy) were found as strays (separately) and were turned into The Denver Animal Shelter. Life is Better Rescue called us because they had known we lost Skyfall and asked if we were looking for a goat. We of course, said YES! These two are both very young and very sweet. Willy is still adjusting and isn’t sure what to make of the other animals just yet, but he sure does love the humans! These two act like royalty so we figured it appropriate to name them after Prince William and Prince Harry.

The two red goats came to us a few weeks ago and they are both just too sweet. They were both 4H projects and were living on a dairy farm. They are each 3 years old and they came to us already named, Jinx and Hudson. Augie has been the most interested in Harry so far (he is probably star struck) and he has also started showing interest in Jinx and Hudson too. We hope you can come and meet our new family of goats and welcome them to the barn!

Mark your calendars for December 17th as we will be holding our first Light the Night ~ Holiday Welcoming Event at our new home! This celebratory event with be a gathering to celebrate the animals, each other, and welcome the holidays. Create an ornament to hang on the tree in honor of a companion animal, favorite animal activist or guardian for only $10.00 with proceeds going towards the continued success and growth of Project: Thrive.  We will have light refreshments and lots of laughs and merriment while we light the tree and other holiday lights of the season.  There will be an opportunity to participate online as well for those of you out of town and unable to attend. Stay tuned for more details coming soon!

With the holidays quickly approaching it’s time to start thinking about what you are going to get for those individuals who either have it all or are just too hard to buy for each year. Well, we have the solution! Did you know that each of our animals can be sponsored? Basically, for a monthly donation, you (or the person you are buying the gift for) becomes a very important part of that animal’s life. The monthly donations are used to provide food and care for that particular animal and they are told all about you and the generous gift you have given to them to help them thrive. Do you have a friend or family member who loves goats? Pigs? Cows? Whoever is their favorite, a sponsorship awaits and that is the gift that truly keeps on giving! To sponsor one of our sweet souls just visit HERE and follow the steps provided. Easy peasy! Not ready to sponsor just yet? One time DONATIONS are always welcome and so appreciated. So there you have it! We may be a little biased, but we think these are some of the best possible gifts to give this holiday season and so easy!

We are so proud of our new home and the space for the animals to enjoy. We are always in need of amazing volunteers to come out and spend time with the animals. There is always plenty to do and you will make a lot of new friends along the way as well! If you live too far away and can’t make it to the barn, we also have lots of cool committees and other avenues to utilize your incredible talents that can be done remotely. Just reach out and let’s see how you can help. We would love to have you become a part of our growing family. To inquire or to sign up to volunteer, just go HERE to get started! We can’t wait to meet you.

For those of you in the United States celebrating Thanksgiving, we wish you a very, very happy one! Maybe you will try a new recipe this year that doesn’t call for Turkey? Our feathered friends will thank you and breathe much easier! There are so many fun recipes online to suit any taste buds, we couldn’t pick just one to share. Find something you like and let us know how it turns out!
